Litigation Legal Assistant | D3 Search

The Tone:
This is a full-time, direct-hire role for a Litigation Legal Assistant at a highly respected CA-based regional law practice, headquartered in Los Angeles, CA (90071). The firm operates on a tiered hybrid work model. This position provides critical legal, administrative, and document processing services to four or more attorneys in the public law and litigation practice departments, ensuring the efficient operation of their high-volume practices.

The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Type: Full-time/direct-hire employment. 37.5-hour week. Non-exempt.
• Location: Hybrid, Los Angeles, CA 90071
• Pay: $105000 yearly
• Team: Supports four or more attorneys (shareholders & senior attorneys) in public law & litigation practice departments.
• Mission: Provides a wide range of legal, administrative, and document processing services to supported attorneys.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), document management software, DocuSign (preferred)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage communications: Handle phone lines, field calls, schedule conference calls, and relay messages to clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
• Prepare documents: Draft agendas, reports, engagement letters, and other legal and administrative correspondence.
• Handle administration: Process time entry, open new matters, manage attorney calendars, and process reimbursement expenses.
• Maintain files: Organize and file both paper and electronic legal documents in designated order.
• Support legal processes: Manage document deliveries, track final executed documentation, and conduct research.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Professionals with a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, possessing a background supporting litigation and public law attorneys.
• Experience: Prior experience in a business law practice with exposure to litigation & public law areas, including substantive Federal & State e-filing.
• Skills: Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, strong attention to detail, organizational skills, effective time management, professionalism, confidentiality, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Bonus: Knowledge of DocuSign.
