The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Scotiabank, located in Houston, TX. Scotiabank is a leading Global Banking and Markets platform with over 100 years of operation, providing capital markets and investment banking services across the Americas. This position plays a key role in executing a broad range of transactions and pitches, preparing client presentations, and financial modeling. The analyst supports client relationship management within the energy sector, contributing to the comprehensive suite of investment banking, credit, and risk management solutions offered to clients.

• Mission: This person will support the execution of investment banking transactions and pitches by preparing financial models and presentations for energy sector clients.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Analyze: Evaluate and analyze the financial needs of corporate clients.
• Present: Create marketing materials and presentations for clients.
• Support: Support transaction structuring and execution efforts, taking on increasing responsibility over time.
• Model: Perform comprehensive financial statement analysis and create and maintain financial models.
• Collaborate: Coordinate with various product groups and industry teams within Global Banking and Markets.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Math, Engineering, Economics, Science, or Technology.
• Experience: 0-2 years of work experience in Investment Banking.
• Skills: Strong quantitative skills in financial analysis, accounting, financial theory, strong written and verbal communication, excellent command of Microsoft Suite (especially Excel), and high attention to detail.
• Bonus: SIE, Series 79, and Series 63 FINRA certifications.
