Investment Banking Analyst – Financial Institutions | Oppenheimer & Co. Inc.

The Tone:

The Investment Banking Team is committed to delivering innovative, market-based strategies to clients across various major industries. This Analyst position within the Financial Institutions Group is integral to supporting senior bankers in providing advisory and underwriting services, offering significant exposure to complex financial transactions.

• Mission: This person will support the Financial Institutions Group by assisting in both sell-side and buy-side advisory engagements, as well as underwriting and placing equity and debt offerings for a diverse client base of public and privately held companies.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare: Create client presentations, draft offering memoranda, and develop internal committee, management, and board presentations for senior bankers.
• Execute: Facilitate transaction execution through direct client interaction and communication.
• Manage: Oversee and coordinate client due diligence processes effectively.
• Model: Conduct extensive financial modeling and valuation analyses.
• Analyze: Assess industry research and trends to inform strategic advice.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Experienced professional in investment banking, with a primary focus on Financial Institutions related transactions.
• Experience: At least 2 years of experience in investment banking.
• Skills: Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency, robust verbal and written communication skills, and elevated attention to detail with consistency in work product.
• Bonus: Knowledge of Dealogic, CapIQ, Bloomberg, and MS Office suite is strongly preferred, and Series 63, 79 FINRA licenses and Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) Exam are required at the time of hiring or shortly thereafter.
