Investment Banking Vice President, Diversified Industrials | D.A. Davidson Companies

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at D.A. Davidson & Co., located in Washington, D.C. D.A. Davidson Companies delivers a breadth of quality financial solutions to individual and institutional investors, companies, and government entities. This role is crucial for project managing strategic assignments, assisting clients with various financial services, and contributing to the firm’s capital market investment banking expertise within the Diversified Industrials sector.

• Team: Works on a team focused on the Diversified Industrials industry, translating senior banker wishes into tasks, assigning to junior bankers, and coaching Associates and Analysts.
• Mission: Project manage strategic client assignments including mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, private placements, and other advisory services, while building relationships with potential clients.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Transaction Leadership: Lead the day-to-day execution of transactions including M&A, private capital raises, and public offerings, preparing marketing documents and financial models, and managing due diligence processes.
• Client Relationship Building: Establish client trust by identifying their needs, providing project leadership, structuring transactions, positioning companies, and assisting with due diligence and negotiations.
• Business Development Support: Assist senior bankers in their business development efforts by contributing to new client acquisition and advisory opportunities.
• Revenue Contribution: Contribute to the deal teams’ revenue targets through effective relationship development and by identifying and recommending deal opportunities for the firm.
• Team Management & Development: Manage, train, and develop Associates and Analysts, ensuring high-quality collaboration and production of their workflow and deliverables.

The Must-Haves
• Background: MBA preferred with investment banking experience, or an undergraduate degree with a minimum of 6 years of investment banking experience. Strong transaction history in M&A or Capital Markets is required.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of investment banking experience with an MBA, or a minimum of 6 years with an undergraduate degree. Transaction experience in the Aerospace and Defense or Government Services industry is strongly preferred.
• Skills: Strong financial modeling ability and computer proficiency, excellent verbal and written communication skills, superior work ethic and teamwork skills, good judgment, and the ability to exercise discretion with confidential information.
• Bonus: Possession of Series 79 (or Series 7) and 63 licenses is preferred.
