Material Planning and Inventory Intern | hackajob

The Tone:
This is an internship at Emerson, located in St. Louis, MO or Knoxville, TN, with collaboration from hackajob. Emerson’s Systems and Software business develops automation software to streamline manufacturing processes. This role is crucial for driving operational efficiency and effectiveness through insightful analysis and the development of new processes. The intern will directly support Emerson’s supply chain and processes, contributing to the success of the Systems & Software business group.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Planning: Identify various planning methods, tools, and programs to optimize the flow of material to support business requirements.
• System Understanding: Understand business system tools such as ERP and MRP to support operational demands.
• Process Improvement: Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify programs to improve and automate processes.
• Research: Research industry best practices and data analytics.
• Business Knowledge: Gain comprehensive knowledge of business flow and influencers for a global company.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university entering either their Junior, Senior, or Graduate year, pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience: Legal authorization to work in the United States. Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.
• Skills: Carefully considers all relevant factors, uses appropriate decision-making criteria, comes up with useful ideas that are new or unique, converts ideas into actions, focuses on an effective collaborative style, willing to take on new opportunities and challenges with urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm, open to change and continuous learning.
• Bonus: Previous internship experience in a professional environment, demonstrated leadership skills such as serving in a leadership role in a student organization, strategic mindset, data analytics skills, strong written, verbal and visual communication skills, self-motivated, innovative approach to problems, strong appreciation for risk management.
