Financial Analyst | Cabrera Capital Markets

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Cabrera Capital Markets, located in an in-person office environment. Cabrera Capital Markets is a premier investment bank and institutional brokerage firm, dedicated to serving global corporations, municipalities, pension funds, and private equity firms. This role is crucial for supporting the Controller and the broader accounting department, ensuring accuracy in financial records and enhancing operational efficiency through technology and process improvements. The TL;DR

• Team: Supports the Controller within the accounting department.
• Mission: This person will own account reconciliation, financial analysis, and the implementation and documentation of accounting processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Tech Stack: Python, VBA, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Oracle, Monday.com

What You’ll Actually Do
• Programming: Develop and debug programs for processing daily and monthly trading data.
• Reconciliation: Maintain and improve bank account reconciliation processes.
• Accounting Support: Support the creation and maintenance of various accounting schedules, including depreciation, lease liabilities, and prepaids.
• Process Enhancement: Utilize AI and other technology tools to develop and maintain efficient accounting processes.
• Ledger Management: Reconcile firm credit card activity and assist with the reconciliation of monthly general ledger accounts, maintaining daily and monthly account reconciliations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, Computer Science, and/or Information Technology.
• Experience: 1+ year of finance experience. Experience using project management tools (e.g., Monday.com) for task tracking and collaboration.
• Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), programming (Python, VBA), computational and statistical data analysis, and accounting software. Must be detail and deadline oriented with excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task projects. Requires SIE certification.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology; 1+ year of Broker Dealer experience; proficiency with Oracle accounting software.
