What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Provide assistance for monthly and quarterly accounting and regulatory reporting requirements, contributing to timely and accurate financial statements.
• Prepare: Develop and validate reports and account reconciliations, ensuring data integrity for financial processes.
• Research: Investigate investment transactions and analyze holdings data to provide insights and support accurate record-keeping.
• Maintain: Organize and upkeep documentation, including audit workpapers, to ensure compliance and readiness for reviews.
• Review: Assess data quality and support the implementation and maintenance of financial reporting controls, enhancing reliability.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, holding Junior standing or higher by the start of the internship program. May 2027 graduates are welcome to apply. Candidates should be pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related business field.
• Experience: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required. Applicants must be available to work full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, for the entire duration of the summer internship program. The ability to work onsite at the Houston, Texas location is essential. Demonstrated interest in investments, accounting practices, and financial reporting is expected.
• Skills: Possess strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities to tackle complex financial data. Exhibit the ability to work independently, taking initiative to see projects through to completion. Demonstrate clear communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration and meticulous attention to detail in all tasks.
• Bonus: An interest in exploring future career opportunities within the Investment Accounting team or with American National post-internship is considered a plus.
