FP&A Analyst | Hitachi Rail
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Hitachi Rail, supporting the global operations of an organization at the cutting-edge of digital transformation and technology. This role contributes directly to the implementation of the company’s Global Strategy by providing essential financial planning, collection, and analysis across various financial statements and related areas, ensuring the accomplishment of organizational goals.

• Team: FP&A team, reporting to Head of FP&A – North America
• Mission: To contribute to Hitachi Rail’s Global Strategy implementation by providing financial planning, collection, and analysis for Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flows, and related areas.
• Tech Stack: S4/HANA (modules FI, CO, MM), OneStream, MS Office suite (Excel)
What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Planning: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of Budget and Forecast information based on defined deadlines.
• Model Updates: Update the planning model to provide comprehensive economic and financial long-term data.
• Performance Analysis: Monitor, measure, and analyze business performance related to all operating activities, coordinating with local legal entity stakeholders to achieve organizational goals.
• Reporting: Perform analysis regarding P&L, Balance Sheet, and statistical information, including elaboration of monthly Sales & Projects geographic area/Line of Business (LoB) actual reporting.
• Ad-Hoc Support: Provide specific ad-hoc reports as required by the executive management team and the Group FP&A team to monitor legal entity performance.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, or Finance.
• Experience: 5 plus years of experience in a similar or related financial position, coupled with a strong understanding of accounting and project management principles.
• Skills: Strong analytical capabilities, advanced knowledge of MS Office suite (especially Excel), and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Bonus: Expertise with ERP information systems, particularly S4/HANA (modules FI, CO, MM) and OneStream in a manufacturing environment.
