What You’ll Actually Do
• System Management: Maintain the department’s calendar system by calculating and entering court-related deadlines for State and Federal courts.
• Deadline Tracking: Track important legal and filing deadlines across a high-volume caseload.
• Order Interpretation: Read court and judicial orders and rules, then calendar relevant deadlines and manually adjust dates as needed.
• Docketing: Docket hearings, discovery, and all information related to court filings.
• Event Scheduling: Calendar related deadlines for depositions, mediations, court appearances, and similar tasks.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum of two years of experience in calendaring, preferably within employment law, demonstrating an understanding of legal deadlines and procedures.
• Experience: At least 2 years of experience calendaring; experience reading court and judicial orders to identify and adjust calendar dates based on judges’ rules is preferred.
• Skills: Detail-oriented, ability to work in a high-volume environment, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel), experience using calendaring software such as Milana, CLIO, or Filevine, and the ability to type at least 40 WPM.
• Bonus: Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
