Phlebotomist / Administrative Assistant (NoMad) | One Medical

The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-person role at One Medical, located in Manhattan, NY. • Team: Takes direction from Practice Coordinator, Operations Manager, or providers.
• Mission: Provides venipuncture and clinical support, serves as the first point of contact, and ensures an exceptional in-office patient experience.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Provide best-in-class venipuncture services across a diverse patient population and assist with extended scope duties like non-blood specimen collection, EKGs, and vitals.
• Ensure a fluid and positive in-office experience through patient intake, same-day schedule management, appropriate follow-up scheduling, and managing billing/insurance inquiries.
• Maintain high standards of in-office care by correctly labeling, handling, and processing specimens, managing inventory, and sterilizing tools.
• Handle all front-of-house administrative tasks including patient check-in/check-out, insurance verification, printing paperwork, and prepping tests to service level expectations.
• Support providers and the virtual medical team with clerical duties, respond to patient messages, follow up on lab cases, and contribute to team development through huddles and problem-solving.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: At least 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist outside of a training or externship environment.
• Skills: Strong customer service skills to build and maintain effective patient relationships, strong written and verbal communication abilities, and proficiency in computer technology including typing and using multiple software systems simultaneously.
• Bonus: Experience working on collaborative, diverse, multi-disciplinary teams; additional experience with remote teams is a plus.
