The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Confidential, within a leading premier middle-market investment banking firm that specializes in mergers & acquisitions and strategic advisory. The firm is expanding its Financial Institutions Group (FIG) and is seeking an experienced Associate to join this growing team. This role is critical for providing essential transaction support and strategic advisory within the FIG sector, offering significant exposure to clients and senior leadership, and directly contributing to the successful execution of engagements and the firm’s continued growth.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Provide comprehensive transaction support for a broad range of mergers & acquisitions and strategic consulting engagements.
• Project Management: Manage several concurrent projects effectively and contribute as part of a team.
• Presentations: Prepare detailed pitch books for client presentations.
• Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence for prospective and live transactions.
• Analysis: Perform valuation analysis and financial modeling for transactions.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Mid-Level Professional with expertise in Investment Banking or Transaction Services/Big4 within the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) and Banks sector.
• Experience: Previous experience in Investment Banking or Transaction services/Big4, specifically within the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) and Banks sector, is required. Demonstrated experience in M&A transactions is also necessary.
• Skills: Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities, combined with a thorough understanding of various valuation techniques, are essential. Candidates must demonstrate high proficiency in financial statement analysis and financial modeling, as these skills will be assessed through case studies.
• Bonus: Assertiveness, self-motivation, and a desire to succeed in an entrepreneurial environment are highly valued. The ability to thrive in a boutique/smaller sized firm, where individuals wear many different hats and gain significant exposure both internally and externally, is a key differentiator. Candidates must also be adept at working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
