What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage Client Relationships: Serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of mass affluent clients, selling and servicing a broad range of fee income and retail banking products.
• Financial Planning Analysis: Establish and periodically update understanding of client financial needs and conditions through sound profiling and personal financial planning analysis.
• Market Expertise: Keep abreast of changing economic, legal, financial planning, and investment trends, serving as a personal financial planning resource for clients and their external advisors.
• Drive Growth: Meet revenue growth, profitability, and retention goals by developing new clients and expanding services to existing ones.
• Collaborate with Specialists: Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with various Truist product and service specialists to ensure an integrated and seamless approach to client service.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in business, accounting, finance, or banking, or equivalent financial services experience and related training.
• Experience: Minimum of five years of financial services experience working with clients in banking, investments, and/or retail lending, or one year in a financial client relationship manager role.
• Skills: Advanced knowledge of personal financial planning/advisory/insurance, investment management/asset allocation concepts, and retail credit/traditional retail bank products for the mass affluent market; active Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), FINRA Series 7, 66 (or 63 and 65), and applicable Insurance licenses (Life, Health, and Variable) required within 100-150 days of job entry, with active FINRA licenses transferred within 60 days; SAFE Mortgage Licensing Act compliant within 30 days of employment; strong interpersonal, sales, relationship management, written, verbal, and presentation skills; demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications like Microsoft Office.
• Bonus: Master’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or banking; mass affluent banking experience; completion or enrollment in professional level certification programs (e.g., CFP, CFA, AAMS®, CTFA®, CLU®, CRPC®, or ChFC®); completion of a leadership development program or banking school.
