The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at BDO USA, located in Richmond, VA. BDO is a leading global organization with over 12,000 professionals across 75+ offices in the United States, providing assurance, tax, and advisory services. This role, specifically within BDO Capital Advisors, offers an energetic self-starter the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of company financials and operations, the M&A deal process, and develop essential skills for a career in investment banking. • Mission: Support the firm’s extensive transaction-related services by completing a broad range of analytical and operational tasks.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Modeling: Construct financial models focusing on transaction valuation work through various analysis methods.
• Documentation Development: Assist in the development and composition of appropriate written documentation including tailored pitch books, offering memoranda, and marketing collateral.
• Data Analysis: Conduct quantitative and qualitative data and industry data analysis to support transaction-related services.
• Deal Sourcing Support: Contribute to deal sourcing efforts by researching new and prospective clients and their respective industries to compile pitch books and internal memos.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program, with a preferred focus in Finance or Accounting. This is an entry-level position.
• Experience: No specific years of experience are required.
• Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work effectively in a team setting, positive attitude and willingness to learn, and an understanding of basic accounting and valuation methodologies.
• Bonus: Completion of junior year of Bachelor’s degree, and leadership experience are preferred.
