Financial Analyst | Oldcastle APG

The Tone:
This is a hybrid early career position at Oldcastle APG, located in Easton, PA, Detroit, MI or Richmond, VA. Oldcastle APG, part of CRH, is a leading provider of innovative outdoor living products and utility infrastructure solutions across North America, manufacturing precast concrete, polymer concrete, and plastic infrastructure products. This role is crucial for supporting the company’s multi-site manufacturing operations by understanding the business, driving performance, and delivering actionable financial insights through a blend of financial analysis, operational partnership, and selected accounting exposure.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operations Partnership: Partner with operations and site leadership to analyze financial and operational performance across multiple manufacturing sites, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Financial Insight Generation: Translate complex data into clear insights and effectively communicate “the story behind the numbers” to support decision-making for the VP of Finance, Controller, and plant teams.
• Cost & Capital Analysis: Analyze Bills of Materials (BOMs), standard costing, and production variances while supporting cost improvement initiatives, margin optimization, and capital investment project evaluation, tracking, and ROI assessment.
• Financial Planning & Reporting: Support budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing financial performance tracking, preparing and analyzing key financial and operational metrics for management reporting and variance analysis.
• Accounting Support: Contribute to select accounting processes, including month-end close, inventory, and fixed assets, ensuring accuracy of financial data and alignment with operational drivers.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with a desire to understand how the business operates.
• Experience: Not specified, but supports early career with the described responsibilities.
• Skills: Advanced Excel skills (modeling, data analysis, and working within complex spreadsheets), comfort working with ERP systems and multiple data sources, and strong communication skills to simplify complex data into clear insights.
• Bonus: Experience in manufacturing or cost-focused environments; familiarity with BOMs, costing, or operations finance; exposure to CapEx analysis or project evaluation.
