Financial Analyst – Supply Chain | SpartanNash

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at SpartanNash, located in Byron Center, MI. SpartanNash is a food solutions company, part of the C&S Wholesale Grocers family, that delivers ingredients for a better life through its global supply chain network, distributing grocery and household goods across all 50 states. This role is crucial for performing financial and operational analysis within assigned business areas, providing recommendations to management, and partnering with cross-functional departments to support the success of the company.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Business Analysis: Participate in business decisions by conducting operating, trend, value-added, and risk/opportunity analyses.
• Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial analysis and reporting, including monthly variance analysis, profitability assessments, and cost analysis for specific business areas.
• Operational Evaluation: Evaluate operations to provide insights that support operational management decision-making processes.
• Consultation & Education: Consult with and educate associates and management on financial analysis and reports to help resolve various business issues.
• Project Support: Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives, providing ad hoc financial analysis as requested.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Two years of experience in accounting and/or financial analysis.
• Skills: Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong analytical, decision-making, organizational, and planning skills; attention to detail; strong initiative; excellent financial and spreadsheet skills; proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Bonus: Systems knowledge or the ability to adapt quickly to different systems.
