Analyst – Private Capital Advisory – Secondaries | Lazard

The Tone:
This is an Analyst role at Lazard. Lazard is a preeminent financial advisory and asset management firm with a global presence, known for its collaborative culture and expert advisory services. The Private Capital Advisory (PCA) Group, with over 100 professionals globally, leads in raising capital and executing secondary transactions for private investment funds. This Analyst role contributes to deal teams by combining investment banking skillsets with capital markets functions, focusing on secondary transactions and GP-led processes.

• Team: PCA deal teams are typically 4-5 professionals, comprised of an Analyst, Associate, Vice President or Director, and a Managing Director.
• Mission: Combine investment banking skillsets with capital markets functions to execute secondary advisory transactions for private investment funds.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare: Client pitches and presentation materials for prospective engagements.
• Evaluate: Comprehensive due diligence on private equity portfolios, assessing asset performance and Net Asset Value (NAV) trends.
• Model: Financial models, including cash flow projections, fund-level waterfall models, and detailed valuation analysis.
• Develop: Detailed marketing materials such as Confidential Information Memorandums (CIMs) and investor presentations.
• Coordinate: Investor outreach processes and facilitate virtual data room requests for due diligence.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Proven academic excellence with core domain knowledge in investment banking or private equity.
• Experience: At least one year of experience in investment banking or private equity, with training in presentation materials and financial modeling.
• Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities; excellent attention to detail and high accuracy standards; strong interpersonal and multi-tasking skills.
• Bonus: Prior experience in GP-led secondary advisory.
