Law Clerk III – Constitutional Law | CACI International Inc

• Mission: Conduct complex legal research and perform deep dive substantive document reviews on assigned investigations and cases, specifically focusing on Constitutional Law and 5th Amendment Takings litigation.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Research: Conduct complex legal research and perform deep dive substantive document reviews on assigned investigations and cases.
• Strategy: Work closely with DOJ attorney teams to develop case strategies, review and analyze evidence, and make recommendations to further investigations.
• Drafting: Assist with drafting legal documents such as motions, memorandums, and briefs, interacting with attorneys and experts to prepare for interviews, depositions, and trial.
• Review: Review documents for relevance and privilege, with a particular focus on Constitutional Law and 5th Amendment Takings litigation.
• Leadership: Act independently and/or as a team leader on larger projects, serving as a primary interface with trial attorneys, experts, and other client staff.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Must have a law degree, sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources. Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a DOJ MBI.
• Experience: Three to five years of progressively more responsible experience on litigation support projects, including proven capabilities and communication skills to successfully interact with clients and attorneys. Requires hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, ESI tools, and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources.
• Skills: Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw. Must have hands-on familiarity with word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging.
• Bonus: Relativity experience, previous Federal Court Trial experience, Lexis/Westlaw/PACER experience, driven by accuracy/high attention to detail, strong written and verbal skills (particularly in a client office environment).
