Financial Analyst | Howmet Aerospace

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Howmet Aerospace, located in La Porte, IN. Howmet Aerospace manufactures advanced engineered solutions, playing a critical role in various industries. As a Financial Analyst, you will be instrumental in supporting the Plant Controller by managing daily accounting functions, coordinating month-end closings, and providing crucial financial reporting and analysis to drive operational insights and decision-making.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage: Daily general accounting functions and coordinate the month-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Analyze: Manufacturing inventory costs, investigate standard variances, perform operational analysis, and assist in planning cost reduction initiatives.
• Administer: The site’s fixed assets and capital plan, maintain payroll and fringe expenses, and ensure labor standards are upheld.
• Report: Internal and external financial requirements, daily/weekly/monthly financial performance, and support management requests for information with detailed analysis.
• Improve: Existing business processes, develop various tools such as spreadsheets or databases to enhance department productivity, and provide user training.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with at least one year of related experience, or three years of direct experience in business process modeling or database design.
• Experience: Minimum of one year in a financial or accounting role, or three years in business process modeling or database design. Proficiency in Windows-based applications including Word, Excel, and Access is required.
• Skills: Strong analytical abilities to interpret information and formulate recommendations, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the capacity to organize multiple tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining a detail-oriented approach.
• Bonus: Experience utilizing PowerPoint and Project, along with a background in developing systematic and manual operations procedures.
