The Tone:

This role is critical for supporting the foundational financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance from daily transactions to monthly close processes. The intern will directly contribute to maintaining sound financial records and supporting strategic financial planning in a technology-driven startup environment.

The TL;DR

• Pay: $35–$45 hourly
• Mission: To support daily accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and assist with core financial processes to ensure compliance and robust financial health.
• Tech Stack: Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP), ERP, expense systems

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Assist in managing daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense tracking.
• Process: Facilitate the accurate processing of invoices, timely vendor payments, and thorough reviews of employee reimbursements.
• Reconcile: Help ensure financial accuracy by reconciling bank statements and various general ledger accounts.
• Maintain: Organize and keep up-to-date financial records, guaranteeing proper documentation for all transactions.
• Contribute: Participate in the monthly and quarterly financial close processes, supporting reporting, budgeting, and analysis efforts.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
• Experience: Entry-level experience with a basic understanding of accounting principles, coupled with proficiency in Excel.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, robust organizational abilities, effective communication and teamwork skills, and the capability to handle confidential information with integrity.
• Bonus: An interest in the technology sector or a startup work environment.
