Financial Analyst | North Shore Preserve

The Tone:
This is a full-time role for Discovery Land Company, supporting its Hawaii projects, based in Scottsdale, AZ or Maui, HI. Discovery Land Company is a prominent real estate developer and operator, creating exclusive private residential club communities and resorts globally. This Financial Analyst role is essential for ensuring the robust financial health and oversight of these high-end projects, encompassing their sales, development, and ongoing operations.

• Mission: This person supports the financial affairs for the project’s sales, development, and operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and analysis for Discovery Land Company’s Hawaii projects.
• Tech Stack: Timberline, Sage Intacct, TEI, Microsoft Office Product Suite, Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Business Plans: Maintain and update project business plans, ensuring alignment with accounting systems, current contracts, and strategic business objectives.
• Investor Reports: Prepare the monthly investor report, including financial data aggregation, analytical commentary, stakeholder feedback integration, and supporting presentation materials.
• Stakeholder Relationships: Cultivate and manage relationships with project investors and lenders, providing timely information and relaying insights on changes or concerns to company leadership.
• Accounting Close & Oversight: Support the accounting and finance team through the close process, ensuring accurate and timely completion of all monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements, including cash management and job cost oversight.
• Ad Hoc Analysis & Memos: Provide ad hoc financial analysis and draft memos as needed for various project needs, including equity partner requests, financing, appraisals, and internal corporate requests.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, or a related applicable field.
• Experience: 2-5+ years of job-related experience, with real estate experience being preferred.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Product Suite, particularly Excel, including creating and analyzing advanced models and utilizing advanced functions. Familiarity with US GAAP. Exceptional written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Bonus: Prior working knowledge of accounting applications such as Timberline, Sage Intacct, and TEI is highly preferred. Demonstrates respect for Hawaiian values, history, and culture, with additional language abilities preferred.
