The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Delmar Nord, located in Chicago, IL. Delmar Nord operates as a leading Investment Bank within the financial services sector, specializing in M&A advisory, capital raises, IPOs, and strategic engagements. This Investment Banking Associate position is a high-impact, client-facing role that is central to deal execution across the technology landscape. You will bridge the communication and workflow between senior bankers and the analyst team, playing a critical part in delivering value to high-growth and established technology companies.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Transaction Execution: Support the end-to-end execution of complex M&A, equity offerings, debt financings, and strategic advisory mandates, ensuring efficient progression through all deal stages.
• Financial Analysis: Construct and maintain detailed financial models, including DCF, LBO, merger models, and accretion/dilution analyses, alongside comprehensive valuation analyses using relevant methodologies such as comps and precedent transactions.
• Client Interaction: Prepare comprehensive client-facing materials, such as pitch books, offering memoranda, and management presentations, and actively participate in client meetings, presentations, and due diligence processes.
• Sector Specialization: Develop deep expertise in key technology verticals including SaaS, cloud computing, AI/ML, fintech, and digital platforms, continuously tracking industry trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies.
• Team Supervision: Oversee, mentor, and provide guidance to junior analysts, meticulously reviewing their work for accuracy and quality, and helping to manage workflow and prioritize deliverables across multiple projects.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Experience: A minimum of 2-5 years of direct experience in investment banking, private equity, or a similarly rigorous financial services environment.
• Skills: Demonstrate strong financial modeling and valuation capabilities, excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities, coupled with advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Bonus: An MBA or equivalent degree is preferred; a deep, demonstrable interest in the technology sector is essential; prior experience specifically covering technology companies is a plus; familiarity with key SaaS metrics (e.g., ARR, CAC, LTV, churn, growth efficiency) is valued; and proven experience with transaction execution (M&A, IPOs, private placements) is a strong advantage.
