Paralegal | CACI International Inc

The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-office Paralegal role at CACI International Inc, supporting the mission of the Justice Department. CACI provides critical support for high-profile government cases, and this position plays a pivotal role in ensuring effective litigation. You will contribute to trial preparation and ongoing litigation support, working closely with DOJ attorneys to achieve successful outcomes for their missions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Litigation Support: Compile, prepare, and summarize relevant materials for attorneys to use in discovery and for motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Case Management: Summarize depositions and other transcripts, maintain case files, and index, track, and control document discovery, exhibits, and other material for depositions and trials.
• Research & Analysis: Perform simple legal research using tools like LEXIS and Westlaw, assist with database searches, and review documents for relevance and privilege.
• Trial Preparation: Prepare exhibit cross-references, assist attorneys in courtroom proceedings, and aid in witness interviews and depositions.
• Document Processing: Prepare and file documents with courts while ensuring compliance with established procedures.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires a paralegal certificate, a Juris Doctor (JD), or current enrollment in an ABA-accredited law school with at least one year of study completed. One year of legal training or legal experience, or two years of college education, can be substituted for the paralegal certificate.
• Experience: At least one year of litigation paralegal or project experience is required, with automated litigation support experience being valued.
• Skills: Excellent written and oral communication, thorough knowledge of computer applications (word processing, databases, spreadsheets, imaging, hardware systems), basic familiarity with ESI tools and eDiscovery procedures, proficiency with legal research tools (LEXIS, Westlaw), and knowledge of standard legal citation.
• Bonus: Document review experience, experience using Relativity software, and trial experience are helpful.
