The Tone:

This role is crucial for providing essential litigation docket and case management support, ensuring the smooth operation and accuracy of legal processes for the firm’s timekeepers and secretaries.

• Team: Reports to the Docket Manager, offering backup support.
• Mission: To ensure accurate and timely litigation docket and case management support for the firm’s legal professionals.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Email Management: Review and respond to Docket mailbox emails, ensuring accurate and timely completion of requests within 24 hours.
• Docket Data Entry: Enter and maintain information in docket software, calculate due dates, and link relevant documents with the Document Management System.
• Court Filings & Research: Perform in-person runs to local courts and agencies for filings, case status research, document retrieval, and fee payments.
• Electronic Filings: Conduct electronic filing and online research via public access websites, the PACER system, and File & Serve.
• Audit Response: Respond to Audit Letter Inquiries by providing formal reports on all pending litigation to requesting parties.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma or equivalent required, with a strong familiarity with the litigation process and general familiarity with the Rules of Civil Procedure for State, Federal, and Municipal Courts.
• Experience: Three to five years of law firm experience with docket or similar functions.
• Skills: Computer knowledge including Windows, Internet, typing, and data entry; excellent customer service skills and telephone etiquette; strong attention to detail and accuracy; ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
• Bonus: Associate’s degree or higher and/or Paralegal Certificate; knowledge of Milana, Aderant eDockets, CompuLaw, or other comparable docket software; knowledge of NetDocuments or other comparable Document Management software.
