Paralegal – Las Vegas (Hybrid) | Littler

The Tone:
This is a hybrid role at Littler, located in Las Vegas, NV. Littler is the largest global employment and labor law practice, with over 1,900 attorneys in 100+ offices worldwide, exclusively devoted to representing management in complex legal matters. This position is vital for supporting attorneys and other paralegals through all stages of the litigation process, requiring an individual capable of independent work and effective problem-solving.

The TL;DR

• Pay: $90605–$135803 hourly
• Team: Reports to an attorney
• Mission: Assists attorneys and other paralegals in all stages of the litigation process, working independently to solve problems effectively.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Case Evaluation & Pleadings: Conduct initial case reviews to assist attorney evaluations, draft case chronologies, “cast of characters”, answers, and other pleadings, and oversee the receipt and intake of client documents.
• Discovery Coordination: Draft discovery requests and responses for attorney review, coordinate the production of documentary responses, review the sufficiency of written and documentary responses, and interact with clients to obtain pertinent documents.
• Deposition Management: Coordinate and schedule lay and expert depositions, draft deposition outlines and select potential exhibits for attorney review, choose relevant material for expert review, attend depositions, summarize transcripts, and arrange for court reporters/video technicians.
• Litigation Database Creation: Coordinate the establishment of in-house or litigation support firm databases, manage the receipt and transfer of documents for imaging, deposition summaries, word searches, and provide links to written and imaged databases.
• Trial Preparation & Support: Coordinate the compilation of trial binders, trial exhibits, and demonstrative exhibits, arrange equipment and offsite trial facilities, assist with drafting motions in limine, jury instructions, and witness/exhibit lists, and operate trial preservation software during trial.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience, coupled with a solid working understanding of litigation issues and processes.
• Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years of paralegal experience in a law firm or corporate law department, with preferred experience coordinating case clerks and other paralegals.
• Skills: Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, LiveNote, Relativity, and other litigation support programs, as well as online research tools; strong interpersonal skills for communicating with diverse attorneys, staff, and clients while maintaining confidentiality; ability to organize, prioritize numerous tasks, and meet deadlines; self-motivation for independent and team work.
• Bonus: Trial experience, experience coordinating all phases of case management for class actions and document-intensive litigation using automated databases and document retrieval/imaging systems, familiarity with Utah state court proceedings and Federal courts/court procedures, a Paralegal Certificate, and Trial Director software experience.
