Business Support Financial Analyst | GreatAmerica
The Tone:
This is a hybrid role at GreatAmerica, located in Cedar Rapids, IA. GreatAmerica is a successful, entrepreneurial company providing equipment financing to businesses across the United States, known for its exemplary customer service and principle-centered philosophy. This key position on the Finance Team will lead and evaluate the financial implications of business support strategies and operations, providing data-driven insights to enhance decision-making and drive success for customers, business units, and the company as a whole. The ideal candidate will leverage strong financial acumen and analytical skills to contribute significantly to overall performance targets.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategy Partnership: Partner with Business Support Leaders in the development of their unit’s operating and financial strategies.
• Financial Modeling: Assist in developing financial models to forecast operating results, including annual budgets and longer-term financial plans for business support units.
• Performance Analysis: Continuously analyze the performance of business support units against financial plans, identifying opportunities, trends, and areas of concern to inform action.
• Impact Quantification: Work with business support stakeholders, using data and analysis, to quantify financial and operational impacts in support of strategic decision-making.
• Recommendation Generation: Make data-driven recommendations to the leadership team regarding revenue growth or cost-saving opportunities that align with long-term financial plans.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Experience: New college graduate or a finance professional with 1-3 years of finance and accounting experience.
• Skills: Ability to translate data into actionable insights, strong written and verbal communication skills, collaboration and cross-functional partnership, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial tools, experience with reporting and dashboarding tools (e.g., Tableau or Power BI).
• Bonus: CPA or CFA certification is a plus.
