Summer Intern | CGC
The Tone:
This is an internship at CGC, located in Washington, DC; New York, NY; Boulder, CO; Walnut Creek, CA. CGC is a nonprofit investment firm that finances and originates clean energy, water, and resilient infrastructure projects. This work aims to accelerate clean air, clean water, and affordable energy for communities across America. This role matters by providing hands-on exposure to CGC’s finance, accounting, and operational work, allowing interns to contribute to real projects and support the company’s mission-driven investment initiatives.

• Pay: $25–$45 hourly
• Team: Assigned to one of CGC’s divisions with direct supervision and mentorship.
• Mission: Contribute to clean energy and infrastructure investment initiatives by supporting finance, accounting, and operational projects.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Support: Support active projects aligned with CGC’s clean energy and infrastructure investment initiatives.
• Analysis: Conduct research, financial analysis, modeling, data analysis, or operational analysis.
• Documentation: Assist with preparing reports, presentations, internal documentation, and process materials.
• Financial Audit: Assist with tying out financial statements and footnotes for audits, and reconcile the contract database against vendor invoicing.
• Accounting Operations: Support balance sheet reconciliations during the month-end close process and review travel and expense submissions for eligibility.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in or a graduate of a Bachelor’s or Master’s program. Must have an interest in clean energy, infrastructure finance, public-private investment, mission-driven finance, accounting, or operations.
• Experience: No prior experience duration is explicitly required, but comfort working with spreadsheets, reports, and internal documentation is essential.
• Skills: Strong academic performance, analytical, communication, and organizational skills, along with attention to detail and ability to follow processes accurately.
• Bonus: Preferred areas of study include Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Quantitative Finance, Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or Financial Technology.
