This Investment Banking Analyst role is an intermediate position within the firm, responsible for assisting clients in critical areas such as capital raising, strategic advisory for mergers and acquisitions, and other financial transactions. The role directly contributes to Citi’s mission by acting as a strategic advisor, formulating investment strategies, and raising capital for clients, thereby supporting their financial growth and safeguarding the firm’s reputation in the market.

• Mission: Assist clients in raising funds in the capital markets, providing strategic advisory services for mergers, acquisitions, and other financial transactions, and acting as an intermediary in trading for clients.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Engagement: Work closely with senior Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) officers and professionals, serving as a junior member of the Investment Banking team to actively participate in specific client transactions, projects, or assignments from initiation to completion.
• Financial Data Analysis: Organize and comprehensively analyze sophisticated financial data, conduct economic and financial research, and evaluate a company’s financial performance against overall industry and market trends. This is crucial for developing robust client proposals and strategic plans.
• Deal Material Creation: Prepare detailed written recommendations, comprehensive valuation materials, and insightful statistical exhibits essential for both initial client pitches and active live deals, ensuring accuracy and clarity in all documentation.
• Complex Modeling: Construct and refine complex financial models specifically for valuation purposes, ensuring these models accurately reflect market conditions and company specifics to inform strategic decision-making.
• Risk Stewardship: Assess risk in business decisions with particular consideration for Citi’s reputation, safeguarding clients and assets by ensuring compliance with laws and policies, applying sound ethical judgment, and transparently managing control issues.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance or closely related areas of Business Administration, or equivalent experience. This is an intermediate-level position requiring core domain knowledge in investment banking.
• Experience: 1-5 years of relevant experience, along with Series 79 and 63 licenses.
• Skills: Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills; ability to work under pressure in a rapidly changing environment to meet deadlines; proficiency in building complex financial models for valuation.
