The Tone:
This is a professional Analyst role at 1st Source Bank, located in South Bend, IN, within the Investment Management Group. The position focuses on critical functions related to trading and investment research. This role is central to the operational efficiency and analytical support provided to the bank’s portfolio managers, ensuring seamless execution of investment decisions. The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing trade settlements, delivering comprehensive market insights, and contributing directly to informed decision-making processes, thereby supporting the overall success of the investment management functions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Trading Execution: Execute investment trades promptly and accurately, receiving directives from various authorized staff members and directly from third parties.
• Settlement Management: Proactively handle and resolve all settlement issues that arise, coordinating closely with brokers and the internal trust operations department.
• Investment Research: Conduct in-depth investment research across diverse market sectors, providing comprehensive findings as requested to support strategic decisions.
• Data Aggregation: Collect and meticulously aggregate sector and performance data, utilizing it for both external marketing efforts and internal informational requirements.
• Committee Support: Provide comprehensive support to the investment committee, completing various assigned tasks to facilitate their functions and objectives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree required, with a focus on finance, accounting, or investments.
• Experience: Prior experience in finance, accounting, or investments obtained during college is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of various trading systems, specifically Moxy, Bloomberg, and FACTSet. A strong understanding of established investment research methods is also required, along with familiarity with critical investment data sources such as Bloomberg and Morningstar.
• Skills: Essential skills include proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, exceptional attention to detail, and the proven ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Good written and verbal communication skills are also crucial for interaction with staff, third parties, and internal departments.
• Bonus: Preferred CFP/CFA/MBA candidate.
