Analyst/ Associate – Equity Research, Business & Information Services | Bank of America

What You’ll Actually Do
• Contribute to Research: Work with the Senior Analyst and team members to develop differentiated investment ideas and actionable research for institutional investor clients.
• Produce Reports: Write regular industry and company reports, including comprehensive company launch initiations developed from scratch, and participate in IPO-related vettings and analyst days.
• Perform Financial Analysis: Conduct complex financial modeling and valuation work, including detailed income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement analysis.
• Develop Insights: Build databases integral to the research product, demonstrate strong industry knowledge and business judgment, and seek out new, unusual sources of information to augment research capabilities.
• Engage Stakeholders: Interact regularly with sales, trading, and external institutional investor clients, responding to research inquiries during market hours, and building relationships with contacts at covered companies.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience in Finance, Accounting, with a basic understanding of economics, macroeconomic factors, international affairs, and policy/politics.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience on the sell-side or buy-side (research, investment banking) is preferred, with prior experience covering business and information services, financials, or software being a plus.
• Skills: Strong writing, modeling, and financial analysis skills (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement in Excel); strong verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to generate differentiated investment insights and communicate complex ideas clearly; strong industry knowledge and business judgment.
• Bonus: CFA or other relevant professional certifications; credit skills; self-motivated, intellectually curious, and passionate about financial markets; strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and a strong work ethic; ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
