Analyst/Sr. Analyst, Alternatives – Client Solutions & Research | Wilshire

The Tone:
This is a hybrid role at Wilshire, located in Santa Monica, CA or Pittsburgh, PA. Wilshire is a long-standing organization, dedicated for over 50 years to helping investors improve their financial outcomes by providing customized portfolio solutions. As part of the Alternatives team, this dual-focused role significantly contributes to client solutions and alternatives research, supporting an organization that advises on over $1 trillion in assets for sophisticated institutional investors.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Support: Support client-related initiatives and assist with monitoring existing client portfolios across discretionary and advisory clients.
• Content Creation: Create presentation materials for clients, support new client solution ideas, and handle ad hoc client requests.
• Quantitative Analysis: Perform quantitative analyses, such as portfolio pacing, to inform client solutions.
• Investment Evaluation: Evaluate private markets investment opportunities, including private equity, private credit, and real assets, primarily in North America.
• Deal Participation: Participate in 3–4 person deal teams to assess both fund investments (primaries) and transactions, including co-investments and secondaries.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree; foundational understanding of the private markets industry.
• Experience: Foundational understanding of the private markets industry, including private equity, private credit, and real assets.
• Skills: Excellent analytical skills (quantitative and qualitative), strong business and investment acumen, high proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Copilot), strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Bonus: Familiarity with marketable alternatives, such as liquid alternatives and hedge funds.
