Financial Analyst | Bass Pro Shops

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Bass Pro Shops, located in-person. Bass Pro Shops operates a unique retail business, focusing on outdoor recreation and conservation. This role is critical for providing financial analysis and insights that directly support the strategic decision-making and overall success of the company. The Financial Analyst will contribute significantly to identifying opportunities for improvement and driving business growth.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Modeling: Create and refine complex financial models that forecast business performance and identify opportunities for growth.
• Strategic Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on financial performance, providing strategic recommendations to guide key business decisions.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, collaborating with department heads to ensure accuracy and alignment with strategic goals.
• Cost Control: Rigorously analyze costs and spending, making bold recommendations for efficiencies and savings.
• Business Partnership: Act as a key finance partner to business units, proactively providing financial insights and support that contribute to the achievement of business goals.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field. Demonstrated financial acumen and/or experience in forecasting, budgeting, and analysis.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years in financial analysis, with a track record of initiative, curiosity, and strategic insight. Exceptional Excel skills are required for financial modeling and analysis.
• Skills: Exceptional Excel skills to perform financial modeling and analysis, ability to identify and understand trends through data and articulate results to all levels of leadership, effective communication skills (both verbal and written), and proficiency in Microsoft suite programs including PowerPoint and Word.
• Bonus: Master’s degree or professional certifications (CFA, CPA) are preferred. Working knowledge of business intelligence applications (e.g., PowerBI) and/or cloud services. Comfort working with complex data tables. Knowledge of TM1 software. A self-starter with the ability to meet tight deadlines, balance competing priorities, and achieve results in a rapidly changing work environment.
