Commercial Internship Program – Summer 2027 | Capital One
The Tone:
This is a full-time paid internship at Capital One, located in various cities across the continental United States, including Charlotte, NC. Capital One’s Commercial Banking group manages a $70 billion loan portfolio, serving over 6,100 clients, and is dedicated to driving digital innovations to transform businesses. This role offers direct involvement in projects and transactions that contribute to the growth and strategic initiatives of the Commercial Bank, providing interns with exposure to senior leaders and tangible impact.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Research: Conduct company and market research to perform quantitative and/or qualitative financial projections and forecasting.
• Optimization: Develop and execute business process optimization projects within the Commercial Bank.
• Analysis: Perform industry research and macro trend analysis for Bank strategy initiatives.
• Review: Examine loan proposals and credit files for critical elements such as compliance, accuracy, and credit risk.
• Presentation: Develop presentations for delivering project, deal, and/or financial updates to clients and leadership.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher, with an expectation to complete your most recent full-time degree program by July 2028 or earlier, and continuing in the same course of study following the completion of the internship.
• Experience: Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a relevant major.
• Skills: Exceptional interpersonal, verbal communication, and writing skills; strong quantitative, analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills; knowledge of general accounting and finance principles.
• Bonus: Demonstrated leadership and team-oriented traits; intellectually curious and forward thinking; familiarity with generative AI platforms and a demonstrated ability to use AI as a collaborator for research, drafting, and problem-solving.
