Financial Analyst, Worldwide TV Distribution FP&A | Sony Pictures Entertainment

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Sony Pictures Entertainment, located in Culver City, CA. Sony Pictures Entertainment is a global leader in entertainment, responsible for the creation, production, and worldwide distribution of a vast portfolio of film and television content. As a key member of the Worldwide Distribution FP&A team, this Financial Analyst position plays a critical role in managing and analyzing the financial health of the company’s global distribution efforts. The analyst’s primary responsibility is to consolidate and meticulously analyze quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, and multi-year strategic plans, supporting either the TV Production or Features product line. This role is instrumental in driving value by creating robust planning models, performing insightful financial analyses, and developing comprehensive global reporting that directly informs and supports strategic business decision-making across the organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Planning: Consolidate and analyze quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, and long-range strategic plans, ensuring accurate and timely submissions for assigned product lines and overhead costs.
• Reporting & Insights: Develop and maintain global reporting, dashboards, and comprehensive financial analyses that deliver actionable business insights on product performance and key drivers.
• Performance Analysis: Conduct detailed variance analysis for respective product lines, track product ultimates, and develop key performance metrics to continuously improve forecasting accuracy.
• Process Optimization: Collaborate with Global FP&A, Commercial, and IT teams to streamline financial processes, optimize reporting efficiency, and maintain FP&A planning systems, hierarchies, and reporting structures.
• Executive Communication: Prepare quarterly presentations, executive reporting, and ad hoc financial analyses, identifying opportunities to automate processes and leverage AI-enabled financial tools where appropriate.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or another analytical discipline. Early Career level.
• Experience: 1–2 years of relevant finance or FP&A experience. Experience with financial planning and reporting systems such as SAP, EPM, Analytics Cloud, Power BI, or Tableau.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial analysis into actionable business recommendations; Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office 365; Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bonus: Experience in media, entertainment, or related industries.
