Vice President, Technology Middle Market M&A | BMO U.S.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Deal Leadership: Lead all phases of M&A and Capital Raising deals, from initial pitch preparation and financial modeling to due diligence management and closing.
• Client Advisory: Provide high-impact advice to C-suite executives and Board members on financial strategies, valuation metrics, and industry trends.
• Relationship Management: Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for clients, counterparties, and third-party advisors throughout a transaction.
• Team Development: Mentor and supervise junior team members, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of work while fostering their professional development.
• Business Origination: Support senior bankers in originating new business by identifying broader technology trends, cultivating prospects, and preparing thematic marketing materials.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires a post-secondary degree, preferably in finance, economics, or accounting with high academic achievement, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a Vice President-level role focusing on technology middle market M&A.
• Experience: Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in investment banking, negotiating and structuring financial transactions, including some experience in a corporate lending environment developing business, with a total of typically 5-7 years of relevant experience.
• Skills: Deep domain knowledge of various technology subsectors, including enterprise software, tech-enabled services, and IT services, along with advanced deal execution and project management skills, and expertise in financial computer applications and database management tools.
• Bonus: An MBA, CFA, or equivalent experience in financial services, accounting, or legal fields is highly desired, along with relevant technology sector deal experience and relevant business services sector experience.
