Reconciliation Analyst | Clearwater Analytics

This is a role at Clearwater Analytics, a company utilizing an advanced web-based system to manage and process investment portfolio data. The Reconciliation Analyst holds a critical position, directly responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of financial data. This role ensures that clients receive comprehensive and precise daily portfolio status updates by meticulously comparing information from various external sources against the company’s internal system. The work of the Reconciliation Analyst is fundamental to maintaining data integrity and client confidence in financial reporting.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Review and Updates: Systematically meet daily deadlines for reviewing and updating critical reporting data, ensuring all information is current and accurate for client delivery.
• Issue Investigation & Resolution: Proactively investigate and effectively address identified issues within the reconciliation system, applying problem-solving techniques and seeking expert guidance from mentors and department specialists when necessary.
• Stakeholder Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain valuable professional relationships with external data providers and clients, as well as internal stakeholders, facilitating smooth data flow and issue resolution.
• Internal Tool Proficiency & Financial Application: Develop strong familiarity with and competency in utilizing internal tools and processes, while understanding and applying complex financial concepts directly to identified reconciliation errors.
• Effective Communication: Communicate clearly and concisely with both internal teams and external parties, submitting necessary inquiries and providing timely, accurate updates on all relevant issues and their resolutions.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Mathematics, Sciences, or another directly related quantitative field, establishing a foundational understanding of investment, financial, and accounting principles.
• Experience: While no specific years are required, preference is given to candidates with prior experience in securities or financial markets, and/or general finance and/or accounting roles.
• Skills: Demonstrate strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; possess exceptional problem-solving abilities to address complex data discrepancies; exhibit excellent attention to detail complemented by strong documentation skills.
• Bonus: Advantageous qualifications include knowledge of GAAP and/or IFRS, a basic understanding of standard security types, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including capabilities like VLOOKUP, SUMIF, Pivot Tables, and VBA.
