Leveraged Finance Analyst | Webster Bank

• Mission: Underwrite new cash flow LBO & private equity backed transactions and manage existing portfolio accounts for middle-market companies.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Due Diligence: Assist the deal team in performing financial and qualitative due diligence for new cash flow transactions.
• Documentation: Prepare pre-screen memos and credit approval documents for presentation to the credit committee.
• Financial Modeling: Develop comprehensive financial models.
• Transaction Support: Assist in the closing process for new transactions.
• Portfolio Management: Manage and continuously monitor assigned portfolio accounts, including completing required reviews and processing incremental credit extensions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience: 1-2 years of experience in leveraged finance at a commercial bank, investment bank, or finance company with strong commercial credit experience.
• Skills: Superior written and verbal communication skills; Strong analytical skills and proficiency with financial statement modeling; Experience underwriting middle market cash flow transactions; Ability to work with limited supervision.
• Bonus: Graduate of a formalized credit training program.
