This is a full-time role at Neuberger, located in New York, NY. Neuberger is a financial services firm aiming to deepen its research capabilities within the Municipal Fixed Income team. This role is crucial for generating investment ideas across tax-exempt and taxable municipal bond portfolios, leveraging both fundamental credit analysis and the thoughtful application of technology and data tools. The firm seeks a proactive individual to enhance research efficiency and investment insights by applying emerging AI and data tools.

• Mission: Generate investment ideas across tax-exempt and taxable municipal bond portfolios by enhancing research efficiency and investment insights through the application of emerging AI and data tools.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Investment Idea Generation: Proactively research, identify, and implement investment ideas across covered sectors.
• Credit Analysis & Reporting: Evaluate and integrate sector trends into actionable investment recommendations, maintaining high-quality financial modeling, written credit reports, and presentations for Portfolio Managers.
• Research Enhancement: Utilize data analysis tools and emerging AI applications to improve the efficiency, depth, and consistency of credit research.
• Workflow Automation: Identify ways to automate routine workflows, organize large datasets, and enhance the monitoring of credit trends across sectors.
• Risk Surveillance & Idea Support: Apply technology tools to support idea generation, scenario analysis, and surveillance of portfolio risks.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree required; demonstrated interest in the municipal bond market.
• Experience: 2-4 years of research experience preferred.
• Skills: Proficient written and verbal communication skills; familiarity with AI tools, data platforms, or automation tools; ability to independently evaluate investment ideas within covered sectors; relationship skills to work successfully within the department and across the organization.
• Bonus: Master’s degree preferred with a strong academic record; Series 7 & 66 within 6 months of joining.
