Strategic Finance Analyst | Hermeus
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Hermeus, located in a hybrid work environment. Hermeus is a venture-backed defense aviation company focused on rapid iterative prototyping to build the fastest aircraft in the world today. They prioritize relentless hardware iteration to deliver high-speed systems for the Department of War. This role is crucial for bridging operational support with long-term financial planning, translating complex engineering and supply-chain challenges into quantitative performance measures and financial solutions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Own: Own end-to-end financial models for products and business lines, gathering and sanitizing data across the business.
• Develop: Develop novel financial frameworks to support strategic decisions across manufacturing, supply chain, facilities, and other functions.
• Execute: Execute rapid, “80% fidelity” analyses on short timelines that later feed into scalable, long-term solutions.
• Create: Create transparency into manufacturing costs alongside FP&A, and explore cost reduction roadmaps for major initiatives.
• Support: Support investor relations functions, including drafting executive and board level materials.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited US institution, with a preference for Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
• Experience: 1-3 years of experience in corporate finance, investment banking, FP&A, consulting, or relevant finance roles at a high-growth hardware or manufacturing startup.
• Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel, including dynamic financial models and scenario analyses; strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with customers, internal engineer and test teams, and suppliers effectively; willingness to learn and engage with corporate ERP and FP&A systems.
• Bonus: Experience or demonstrated interest in the aerospace and defense industry, government contracting, or other highly regulated fields.
