Private Credit Vice President | Selby Jennings

The Tone:
This is a full-time Vice President role with a Midwest-based Private Credit firm that manages over a billion in committed capital. The firm invests in middle-market companies with an industry-agnostic approach, providing broad exposure across sectors. This position is crucial for leading a lean deal team and takes significant responsibility across the full investment lifecycle.

What You’ll Actually Do
Investment Analysis: Lead execution of market and industry research to support investment theses and oversee financial modeling, valuation, and return analyses for potential investments.
Due Diligence: Drive due diligence processes and coordinate with third-party advisors.
Investment Presentation: Present investment opportunities to the Investment Committee.
Portfolio Management: Monitor and support portfolio companies post-close, including board participation and strategic initiatives.
Team Leadership: Mentor and manage junior team members.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree required; Career level: Manager. Core domain knowledge in Investment Banking (M&A) and/or Private Credit or Private Equity investing.
• Experience: 5-7 years of relevant experience, including proven ability to lead transactions and manage cross-functional teams.
• Skills: Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills (a modeling test is required), along with excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic.
• Bonus: MBA or other advanced degree a plus; prior experience or interest in sectors such as business services, industrials, manufacturing, and/or consumer preferred.
