The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Nuveen, located in Los Angeles. Nuveen is a global investment leader, managing public and private assets for clients around the world and on behalf of TIAA, its parent company and one of the world’s largest institutional investors. This role is crucial for obtaining, organizing, and analyzing market-related equity information to identify new investment opportunities and effectively cover existing portfolio holdings. Working under limited supervision, this position interprets data for equity trends and reports to management on potential product or service development, directly supporting the firm’s portfolio managers.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Coverage Leadership: Lead initial coverage in the Financials sector, with opportunities to expand into other sectors.
• Portfolio Support: Support Nuveen’s Portfolio Management team across Value, Core, and Growth investment strategies.
• Due Diligence: Prepare and lead comprehensive due diligence discussions and construct financial models.
• Investment Management: Maintain active coverage lists, watchlists, investment theses, and risk framing for covered companies.
• Research Documentation: Prepare high-quality investment memoranda to communicate research findings and recommendations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: University degree preferred. This role is classified at a Career Level 5IC, focusing on equity research analysis.
• Experience: 2-3 years of experience in sell-side research or on the buy-side, with specific experience covering the Financial sector.
• Skills: Financial Modeling, Investment Research/Analysis, Sector Expertise, Asset Valuation, Capital Markets.
