The Tone:
This is a full-time role at 9fin, located in New York, NY, with a hybrid working model offering flexibility. 9fin builds an AI platform that powers global debt markets, which is the world’s largest asset class. The platform addresses fragmented data, PDFs, and manual workflows by centralizing proprietary credit data, deep analysis, and high-value workflows. This Credit Analyst role is crucial for providing market-leading analysis and insight to 9fin’s institutional client base, which includes global banks, asset managers, private equity firms, law firms, and advisors. The analyst will also contribute significantly to the growth and development of the existing team and 9fin’s future success as the company scales rapidly.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Primary Analysis: Review new debt transactions specifically within the US high yield and leveraged loan market, with a focus on ensuring the production of quick and insightful reports that add immediate value.
• Secondary Analysis: Conduct deep dives into high yield earnings reports, provide comprehensive financial updates on specific credits, and produce market-leading predictive analysis and industry research, all with appropriate guidance from senior analysts.
• Client Engagement: Actively support 9fin’s institutional clients by answering their questions regarding the platform’s functionality and providing valuable market insight.
• Product Evangelism: Proactively gather client feedback and collaborate closely with the product team to continually develop and enhance the 9fin offering, taking the lead on new and exciting product developments.
The Must-Haves
• Background: An early career professional with a strong foundational interest in financial markets and a genuine desire to learn about their operations and mechanics.
• Experience: 0-1 years of relevant professional experience, or a demonstrated strong interest in financial markets and their dynamics.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, necessary for producing clear, timely, and accurate copy in a concise manner, coupled with excellent attention to detail; the ability to interpret complex information and construct effective solutions to challenging problems; and the capacity to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative team member.
