Private Equity Associate | FVLCRUM Funds

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at FVLCRUM Funds, located in Bethesda, MD. FVLCRUM Funds is a growth-oriented private equity firm that invests in lower middle-market companies with the goal of generating strong financial returns while expanding access to opportunity in underserved communities. This Associate role is central to the firm’s activities, involving all aspects from evaluating and executing new investments to monitoring existing portfolio companies, and represents a key contribution to an entrepreneurial and growing firm.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Transactions: Identify, source, and support the structuring and execution of M&A transactions for new investments and add-on acquisitions.
• Due Diligence: Conduct new investment analysis, diligence, underwriting, and financing activities, including the construction of financial models.
• Portfolio Support: Work with portfolio companies on strategic and financial initiatives, including the development, tracking, and management of key performance indicators.
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor and report on portfolio company performance post-investment.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Participate in meetings with management teams, M&A intermediaries, and financial institutions.
• Capital Events: Participate in exit monetization processes, such as recaps and sale processes, and other capital events.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field, with core domain knowledge in valuation, M&A-related modeling, and understanding of leveraged transactions.
• Experience: 1–3 years of relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or M&A corporate development.
• Skills: Excellent financial modeling and analytical skills, strong writing, communication, and presentation skills, high level of integrity and attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
• Bonus: Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., MBA, CFA), genuine desire to be an early contributor to an entrepreneurial and growing firm.
