Investment Associate, Global Infrastructure Solutions – GIP | BlackRock
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at BlackRock, located in New York, NY, with a hybrid work model requiring at least four days in the office. BlackRock, one of the world’s preeminent asset management firms, serves institutional, intermediary, and individual investors globally. This position is within the Global Infrastructure Solutions (GIS) division of Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), which specializes in investing in and operating complex infrastructure assets across various sectors, managing a combined $180 billion in infrastructure AUM. The role is critical for underwriting, executing, and managing multi-manager infrastructure investments, with a focus on co-investments and secondaries in North America, contributing to the firm’s mission of helping clients achieve financial well-being through strategic infrastructure portfolios.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Deal Underwriting: Support the evaluation and execution of transactions in infrastructure multi-manager investments.
• Financial Analysis: Develop complex financial models and analyses to inform investment decisions.
• Workstream Coordination: Coordinate commercial, legal, and tax workstreams, collaborating with deal team members and cross-functional resources.
• Investment Communication: Create comprehensive investment memos and present investment recommendations to investment committees and clients.
• Portfolio Management: Monitor and manage existing investments and maintain strong relationships with General Partners (GPs), preparing materials for performance reviews.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record, relevant to infrastructure and/or private equity investment.
• Experience: 2+ years of experience in principal investment, secondaries, co-investment, and/or investment banking roles.
• Skills: Proven quantitative capabilities and extensive experience with building and analyzing complex financial models are essential. A strong understanding of private equity, leveraged finance, project finance, and secondaries is required. The role demands strong verbal and written communication skills, along with solid interpersonal abilities for collaborating with deal teams, cross-functional resources, and clients.
• Bonus: Familiarity with AI tools is desirable. Knowledge of and exposure to various infrastructure subsectors, alongside familiarity with the infrastructure private equity manager universe and transactions, will be advantageous. Professional competency in languages other than English is also a plus.
