Corporate Development Associate | Synergy Search

• Mission: This person evaluates new acquisition opportunities and existing portfolio initiatives to assess key value creation levers across multiple business lines.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Execution: Execute M&A processes and due diligence workstreams, including financial analysis and communication with external parties.
• Modeling: Build and maintain financial models supporting transaction deliverables and underwriting efforts.
• Presentation: Present findings and analyses directly to ownership and executive leadership.
• Management: Manage transaction processes comprehensively from sourcing through to closing, coordinating with legal, accounting, and operations teams.
• Integration: Support post-acquisition integration planning and ongoing performance tracking of acquired entities.
• Analysis: Develop a working knowledge of unit economics across various industry verticals to effectively evaluate acquisition targets.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
• Experience: 2-5 years of experience in transaction advisory, consulting, corporate M&A/finance, or private equity. Exposure to buy-side M&A, roll-up strategy, or platform/add-on acquisitions is strongly preferred.
• Skills: Advanced Excel skills with a strong financial modeling background, including consistency and formatting discipline; strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills; an independent, critical thinker who takes initiative and challenges assumptions.
• Bonus: PowerQuery experience; experience in real estate, franchise, or healthcare industries.
