Associate, Finance | Wafra
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Wafra, located in New York, NY. Wafra is a leading global investment firm managing approximately $30 billion in assets and commitments across various asset strategies. The Finance function is central to supporting the firm’s financial and strategic objectives, encompassing firmwide financial planning and analysis (FP&A), capital structure, liquidity management, and financing initiatives. This role is crucial for supporting the Director, Finance with corporate finance execution, financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and decision support, with exposure to senior leadership.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Modeling: Maintain and improve the corporate financial model used for budgeting, forecasting, and multi-year strategic planning, including analysis of leverage and dividend policies.
• Reporting & Analysis: Develop financial materials and presentations for management and board meetings, and assist with scenario, sensitivity, and long-term impact analyses related to new initiatives.
• Strategic Transactions: Support financial analysis and diligence for corporate acquisitions, divestitures, and coordinate with external providers for financing transactions.
• Fund Finance: Support the analysis, structuring, negotiation, and implementation of fund financing arrangements, such as subscription lines and NAV facilities.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including accounting, alternative investments, real estate, operations, tax, and legal, to support firm initiatives.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree and strong academic record with an emphasis in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. Solid understanding of financial statements and core accounting principles (GAAP).
• Experience: Associate will have 3–5 years of experience; Senior Associate will have 4–6 years of relevant experience in investment banking, transaction advisory, financial consulting, or a comparable finance role, in addition to relevant FP&A, corporate finance, and/or asset management specific project experience.
• Skills: Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills are a must, particularly the ability to build fully integrated three-statement models. Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across all teams.
• Bonus: Experience with fund-level cash flows or waterfall models is highly relevant. Curiosity and desire to work with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and related tools to enhance the Finance function.
