Corporate Development Associate | Samba

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Samba, based in New York or California. Samba is a media intelligence company that captures and organizes consumer attention data across screens with consent from over a billion people. This role supports strategic M&A activities and vital commercial partnerships, directly contributing to Samba’s growth and market presence through deal execution and financial analysis.

What You’ll Actually Do
Strategic Evaluation: Support the evaluation and execution of potential acquisition targets and strategic investment and commercial opportunities in media, technology, and data analytics.
Financial Analysis: Conduct preliminary financial analysis and due diligence on target companies, including reviewing confidential information and financial statements.
Modeling & Valuation: Build and maintain financial models to assess valuation, returns analysis, and other key metrics for potential transactions.
Deal Preparation: Prepare business cases, partner-facing decks, term sheets, and deal summaries for strategic business development discussions with various partners.
Process Management: Assist in managing buy-side and sell-side processes, including coordination with advisors and internal stakeholders, and maintaining pipeline tracking.

The Must-Haves
• Background: BA/BS degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
• Experience: 3-4 years of experience in investment banking (M&A or TMT coverage preferred), corporate development, business development, private equity, venture capital, or top-tier management consulting.
• Skills: Advanced financial modeling skills with proficiency in Excel and experience building discounted cash flow (DCF), comparable company, and precedent transaction analyses; demonstrated ability to synthesize complex financial and business information clearly; experience reviewing and analyzing financial statements, key performance metrics, and business models; strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple work streams; excellent written and verbal communication skills for executive-level presentations.
• Bonus: MBA is a plus; interest in or knowledge of the media, entertainment, advertising technology, or data analytics industries; prior exposure to commercial deal structuring, partnership development, or data licensing; willingness to travel as needed.
