Associate, Corporate Strategy | Focus Financial Partners
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Focus Financial Partners, located in New York, NY; Austin, TX; or San Francisco, CA. Focus Financial Partners is a leading financial services firm offering integrated wealth management, family office, and business management services. This Associate position is a critical part of the core strategy team, directly responsible for executing M&A activities and driving deals to completion, contributing to the firm’s growth and strategic objectives. Successful Associates will have the opportunity for advancement within the firm.

• Team: Member of Focus’ core strategy team which oversees all corporate development / M&A activities.
• Mission: Participate in every step of the deal process from proposal to close, working closely with senior team members to drive deals to completion.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Execute M&A deals from the initial proposal through to close, coordinating with various firm stakeholders.
• Evaluate investment opportunities by reviewing Confidential Information Memorandums and coordinating non-disclosure agreements and management meetings.
• Perform financial due diligence and P&L scoping for prospective internal and external deals.
• Model and structure comprehensive deal terms, preparing them for presentation.
• Prepare and present Investment Committee memorandums and term sheets to the IC committee and other stakeholders.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree from a top university or college, with a foundational understanding gained from experience in investment banking, private equity, or strategic consulting.
• Experience: 2-3 years of full-time work experience in investment banking, private equity, or strategic consulting.
• Skills: Competency in financial statement analysis, strong analytical skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and strong organizational and prioritization skills.
