Safety Internship – Summer 2026 (Multiple Locations) | CUPERTINO ELECTRIC
The Tone:
This is a 10-to-12-week internship at Cupertino Electric, Inc., offered across multiple project locations including California, Ohio, Iowa, Wisconsin, New Mexico, and Utah. Cupertino Electric builds high-profile, complex electrical construction projects for commercial, data center, and energy & renewables markets. This role is crucial for exposing undergraduate and post-graduate students to real-world safety practices in the construction industry, allowing them to contribute to important projects and develop their careers in safety.
The TL;DR

• Pay: $23.77–$35.23 hourly
• Mission: To support project leadership and field crews in maintaining and improving safety programs and practices on electrical construction sites.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Safety Support: Assist Crew Foreman and General Foremen in developing Job Hazard Analyses for ongoing projects.
• Program Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of current safety programs by conducting daily field walks and observations.
• Feedback & Improvement: Provide regular, constructive feedback to project leadership regarding areas needing safety improvement and opportunities for recognition.
• Safety Coaching: Offer coaching and mentoring to employees exhibiting unsafe behaviors and acknowledge employees demonstrating safe behaviors.
• Meeting & Investigation Support: Help Project Leadership in facilitating weekly toolbox safety meetings and completing incident investigations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Current student pursuing a major in Safety, EHS, or a similar field, with a High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: 0 years of experience required.
• Skills: Knowledge of safety program development and evaluation, understanding of regulatory compliance, and ability to conduct incident investigations.
• Bonus: Interest in the electrical construction industry.
