Pharmacy Pre-Grad Intern – WM | Walmart
The Tone:
This is an in-person internship at Walmart, located in Mansfield, PA. Walmart operates a vast network of community pharmacies with a core mission to provide exceptional customer service and ensure the safe, efficient delivery of pharmacy products and services. This Pre-Grad Intern role offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of patient care, directly contributing to improving customer health and wellness, and advocating for patient wellbeing within a community pharmacy setting. Interns are paid to help support the team’s goals and contribute to the overall success of the company.

• Mission: Support the pharmacy team in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring safe, efficient pharmacy products and services for the community.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Confidentiality: Ensure confidentiality of patient information, documentation, and assigned records according to Company policies, and local, State, and Federal guidelines.
• Processing Orders: Assist with the processing of both prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) orders and purchases for customers.
• Patient Care: Deliver direct patient care by recognizing individual patient needs, assessing their situation, and helping to navigate available clinical therapies.
• Inventory Management: Receive and stock incoming merchandise and supplies from various distribution centers and external suppliers.
• Pharmacy Maintenance: Manage overall pharmacy inventory levels and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level, currently enrolled in an accredited Pharmacy school, with an foundational understanding of pharmaceutical care principles.
• Experience: No specific prior professional experience required beyond current pharmacy school enrollment. The role is designed for hands-on learning in a community pharmacy environment.
• Skills: Excellent ability to foster strong relationships with customers and the pharmacy team; demonstrated capability to recognize and assess individual patient needs and provide tailored support; unwavering commitment to following all HIPAA and Protected Health Information (PHI) guidelines; proficiency in managing pharmacy inventory and maintaining a clean, organized pharmacy area; understanding of best practices in pharmaceutical care.
• Bonus: Possession of a Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification; a strong enthusiasm for actively participating in community activities, outreach programs, and health events.
