What You’ll Actually Do
• Support tax document preparation: Provide assistance in preparing essential work papers, trial balances, and depreciation schedules, along with entering data for computer applications and preparing engagement correspondence.
• Facilitate tax and audit data management: Assist professional staff in gathering necessary data for tax return preparation, as well as maintaining the firm’s tax library and client tax and auditing files.
• Perform substantive auditing procedures: Execute specific auditing procedures in assigned areas, always obtaining a clear understanding of the work to be performed and its underlying purpose.
• Document audit findings: Prepare comprehensive working papers that adequately document the tests performed, the procedures followed, and substantiate all conclusions reached during audit engagements.
• Identify control deficiencies: Remain alert to the proper and consistent application of accounting principles while performing audit procedures, and identify and document any control deficiencies or other matters that warrant management’s attention.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled as a student in an accredited college or university, pursuing a major in accounting. Applicants must also be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future, as CRI will not sponsor for U.S. work visa status for this or future positions (including H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, F-1, J-1, OPT, CPT or any other employment-based visa).
• Experience: Demonstrated familiarity and proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Skills:
• Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills for effective interaction.
• Proven ability to work both independently on tasks and cooperatively as part of a team.
• High degree of discretion and integrity when handling confidential information.
• Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with others in a professional setting.
